CRITICAL RESISTANCE:
STOP THE PRISON INDUSTRY COMPLEX
It’s time to stand up and speak out against the growing Prison Industrial Complex.
Some of the issues that will be addressed at this rally are:
The Prison Industrial Complex (PIC) is the fastest growing industry in the U.S. with more than two million people imprisoned and more than 7 million people under some form of correctional control. The only industry whose livelihood and future growth depends on its own failure.
The economic and racist injustice of the Death Penalty.
PIC violations of United Nation standards for prisons.
PIC’s use of prisoners for slave labor which has been directly linked to the World Trade Organization and the emerging Police State.
State and National Political Prisoners.
Women in Prison, Restorative Justice.
Mandatory minimum sentencing, Ohio Adult Parole Board.
Staughton Lynd, a human rights activist for more than 40 years, will be speaking out on the Lucasville 5, the Ohio Death Penalty and super maximum-security prisons. Other speakers and sponsors to be announced.
